Secret Crafter #65

Good morning to all in blogland. Thank you for calling in to see my creations, I hope you find something to make your visit worthwhile.
We've had more snow here in the last 24 hours and although the temperature has risen to just above freezing the white stuff is still hanging on. That's four weeks now and the novelty has definately worn off. Still on the bright side, if I can't go out I can always craft away indoors.
I have sometimes wondered if my cards are too busy so I thought I would give the "less is more" strategy a try but when I look at this card I am thinking I have maybe overdone it - there's not much here. I didn't even put a sentiment on it - I might keep it for a man card further down the line.
Anyway I am entering this into the Secret Crafters challenge and it is based on the great sketch they provided. I have used an Inkadinkado stamp and actually double stamped it to give a bit of depth to the image. The papers are Bazzil and Rayher Hobby GmbH. The ribbon is new from Stampaholics in Perth.
I really need your views on this one so if you can spare a minute please leave a comment to let me know what you think. It would really be appreciated.
I hope you have a successful day crafting and blogging and keep safe when your out and about if you are sharing this weather.
Hugs,

  1. Hi Fiona, poor you more snow..it's melting quite quickly here now much as I like snow I'm not sorry it's going and we can get back to normal..onto your card I love the layout and the less is more theme...the image is fab and the ribbon and bow is just right. I think if you put a sentiment on it will be perfect..it's lovely

  4. I think simple is sometime under-rated. I try to keep mine fairly simple if I can, makes my life easier!
Very elegant hun, would do for a man or an older person perhaps. . . God forbid you could always bung a peel off on it later - or better still put your sentiment on the inside!
    Stay safe hun!

  8. I like this card, sometimes we can't see our creation as they are clouded by all the embellies, your card is like a naked beauty, doesn't need anything else. And sometimes it's best to leave off sentiments so we can use it for any occasion. I love it Fiona!
    Happy crafting

  9. This is a great male card Fiona, and leaving the sentiment off allows for some flexability. I'm an embellisher too and find it hard to pare down. This is gorgeous! (But I still love your frilly style as well!) xxD

  13. Hi Fiona, I think your cards fabulous but it does feel a bit scary if its not your usual style. I LOVE the image and you can see the depth with the double stamping - like looking in a forest! The background paper and ribbon are just perfect! Wonderful use of the sketch - good luck in the draw and thanks for joining us at SCSC this week
