Great News

Good morning ladies. It's all good news today. Fiona is feeling a bit better and the doctors have decided that she is probably at a stage that would allow them to send her home before too long. They want to see what the Plastics people say when they see her later today (Friday). If they decide to go ahead straight away with surgery to patch up the sores she will be transferred to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. That is what we both hope for. If that is not possible she will get home on Saturday probably.
Thank you for your continued support, good wishes and prayers.

Improvement Maintained

Good morning ladies. I am pleased to report that Fiona seems to be maintaining her progress. She was a bit brighter but is still on oxygen. Apparently when they take her off it her blood oxygen levels drop too far. Anyway, the reassessment of her case has been delayed until today and she will be kept in hospital until she sees the Plastics people on Friday. She's struggling for room in her single ward for her cards. You have been so kind. Every one of them has cheered her up.
Thanks for caring.

Another Good Day & New Release of Stamps

Good morning ladies. I am pleased to report that Fiona is continuing to improve and was feeling a bit chirpier when I was in visiting. She is still a bit chesty but her breathing is a bit easier and the doctors are pleased with the state of the heel and ankle sores. The plan is for all the doctors involved in her treatment to have a case conference today (Wednesday) to decide where to go from here. Home might hopefully be on the horizon.
Your continued good wishes and prayers are such a comfort to her and she now has cards from all over the globe. Thank you so much for your support.

CRAFTY SENTIMENTS RELEASE

Fiona obviously has not been able to join in.

A Little Progress

Good morning ladies. Thank you for all your latest wishes for Fiona's health to improve. I am pleased to tell you that the latest scan revealed that the blood clot has been dissolved and so that is one less thing to worry about. She still on the antibiotics but the doctors are reassessing the regime she is on. The pneumonia is much about the same and she is in good spirits. Her heel and ankle are improving. Your messages have cheered her up and we are hopeful that she will be home before the weekend.
Thank you all again for your good wishes.

Marginal Improvement

Good morning ladies. When I first announced that Fiona had gone into hospital and some of you asked me to keep you updated I never thought for a minute that I would still be doing it now. Sadly, although there is a marginal improvement in Fiona's condition I think she will be in for a few days yet. She is still on the intravenous antibiotics and clot busting drugs and is on oxygen to help her breathing. She is going for a scan today to see if the clot is breaking up.
Your continued encouraging comments, emails, cards and prayers are a great comfort to Fiona and we are both grateful for your interest.
I will hopefully have better news soon.

Things not Going Well

Good morning ladies. I am sorry that the latest news on Fiona is a bit of a disappointment. The Xray she had on Friday has shown that she has a small blood clot on her lung and is suffering from pneumonia as well. She is still on the intravenous antibiotics and is being given regular injections to break up the clot. She is not feeling very well at the minute and is very tired. The antibiotics are making her feel sick and the enforced bed rest is not doing her back any good at all. She is in quite a bit of pain. I doubt that she will be home at the beginningof the week unless there is a dramatic change for the better.
Your continued messages of goodwill and support are much appreciated by both of us.

Treatment continues

Good day again ladies. Not much more to report. Fiona has had chest Xrays and is on oxygen to ease her breathing. (Goodness that sounds serious but it's not really.) She is to be on the intravenous antibiotics until Monday at least and depending how she is then they will consider letting her home. More cards arrived yesterday and Fiona is overwelmed by your kindness. She will have a lot of thank you emails to write when she eventually gets home.
Thank you all again for your kind comments, emails and cards. They are so encouraging.

A Minor Setback

Good morning ladies. I am sorry to report that Fiona has suffered a bit of a setback. She seems to have picked up a bit of a chest infection. The doctors have said that there is little chance of being home before the beginning of the week but they have extended her treatment on the intravenous antibiotics.
She is still in good spirits. Her room in hospital is beginning to look like a shop for handmade cards. The cards she has received already make a magnificent display and are the subject of much comment. You are obviously a very talented group of ladies.
Thank you so much for your support fro Fiona.

Thank You to Everyone

Good Day ladies. Fiona is feeling much better in herself although the infection is still not cleared up fully. She is still getting the intraveous antibiotics so no mention of getting home as yet. However Fiona wanted me to say how very much she has appreciated all your comments and emails. I have printed them all out and taken them in to her. They have cheered her up no end and the cards she has received are a joy to behold. Your goodwill and prayers have been a source of comfort to us both.
Thank you so much for caring.

Another Update

Good morning ladies. There is not much new to report. Fiona continues to improve and has benefited from the bed rest. There is still some infection but it is vastly reduced. Some cards arrived for her today and she was thrilled to receive them. She sends her regards to you all.
Thanks again,
William

Continued Improvement

Good Day ladies. Just a very quick post to let you know that Fiona is improving significantly and should only need another couple of days on the intravenous antibiotics. She is beginning to hope that she may be home befor the end of the week.
Thank you all for your kind messages - they have cheered her a lot.

Further News

Hello ladies. I am pleased to report that Fiona's improvement continues. The intravenous antibiotics seem to be dealing with the infection and things are beginning to clear up. Doctors have always had difficulty in finding decent veins on Fiona for taking blood or fitting drips. They have given up this time and have introdused a canula into her arm that they have fed through her veins to her heart. This apparently can be left in place for about 6 months if required so when she gets home they will leave it in place for when she goes back in to see the Plastics Consultant.
She is looking a lot better and is thrilled with all your comments and emails. You have cheered her up no end. I'm truly grateful for all your interest.

Latest on Fiona

Hello ladies. I'm pleased to say that Fiona continues to improve. The infection in her heel has been resolved but the wound round her ankle is still infected. She continues on the intravenous antibiotics and will be on them for another couple of days. It transpires that the Plastics specialists come to Perth from Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for weekly clinics so it looks as though she will be allowed home before seeing them again but we'll have to wait and see.

We are both very humbled by the extent of your interest and the number of comments and emails that have been left for her. It has been a huge encouragement to her and I am indebted to you all for that.

By the way Fiona wanted me to remind you all that the new Crafty Sentiments challenge will be officially published at 09:00hrs today. She obviously has no DT card submitted this week but she would love it if you could find time to call in there and have a go at the challenge.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

Update

Good morning ladies. I am pleased to report that things have been moving on with Fiona. The hospital have cleaned up the raw wounds and Fiona is being given intravenous antibiotics. Her leg has been photographed and redressed at regular intervals to monitor the area of infection and inflamation. She was dressed to go to theatre but when the Plastic Surgeon saw her he said that he could not operate until after all the infection has cleared and the wounds have settled. They have provisionally made an appointment for two weeks time but she may be seen before that if things improve sufficiently.
Before I went in to see her last night I looked at her blog and printed out all the comments and good wishes that had been left. I took them and copies of the emails that had been sent so that she could see them and she was overwhelmed with the amount of concern, good wishes and love that had been left for her. It cheered her up no end.
Thank you so much for caring.

An Enforced Break

Good morning ladies.
This is not Fiona but her husband. I am afraid that Fiona has been admitted to hospital because the infection in her heel and ankle has become much worse. She has been put on intravenous antibiotics and the doctors are waiting to see how she responds before deciding what needs to be done.
She has appreciated all your good wishes and is a bit disappointed that Perth Royal Infirmary is not a new hospital with web access in the wards and she won't be able to surf your blogs.
I will post any significant news on her blog.
Best wishes,
William

A Birthday Wish

Hi girls, great to have you visiting here. Starved of crafting for the last week the visits to my regular blogs are the only thing keeping me going. I am still struggling and the heel and leg are not any better. I was at the surgery today to have it dressed and the doctor has put an ink mark round the area of inflammation and given me another antibiotic to be taken in addition to the one I'm on. I am to go back tomorrow and if the inflammation has spread I think that Perth Royal Infirmary will be my next stop. We'll see.

I am posting yet another Stampaholics card. What would I have done without Siobhan and her classes and inspiration. Again the design is her's although I made the card. I hope you like it.

It would be really appreciated if you left a comment. I love reading them and they have been a great comfort to me this last week or so. I appreciate it takes time but they really are valued.

Stay safe and healthy.

Belated Easter

Hi girls. Thanks for calling in. I'm afraid I'm still out of commission and no new cards made. I'm really missing crafting and without your blogs to visit I would be distraught.

So today I am showing another Stampaholics class card that I made just before Easter. There is a bit o punching, cutting and embossing as well as stamping in it but I think it hangs together. Again the design is Siobhan's, the owner of Stampaholics but I did make the card. If things don't improve soon I'll have to rename my blog "Siobhan's Stamping Samples" Lol.

I hope you like this one and I would love it if you leave a comment. I enjoy reading them and as things stand I've got plenty of time to pour over them. Thanks for your time - I hope you have a great crafting day and stay safe and healthy.

Stampaholics to the Rescue & An Award

Hi girls, Thank you for coming over to see my blog. I am flattered by your visit. I am afraid that I have had to post another of my Stampaholics class cards today because the health situation is still less that satisfactory. I am so overwhelmed with the concerned comments and emails I have received. You are all so caring.
I was at the doctors today and my heel and leg are still badly affected by cellulitis. The wound on my heel is looking a bit better but I have been ordered to take bed rest to take all the weight off my heel. The doctor wants me to go back on Wednesday. Cardmaking is out of the question for the next few days. I will still be able to surf your blogs of course and leave comments. So for the next few days I'm just going to post my Stampaholics cards and forget about challenges.
I must again stress that although I made the cards I will post the design and inspiration is all Siobhan's, the owner of Stampaholics. I visited her shop about a week after I decided to take up cardmaking and she was so supportive and willing to give advice and information to help me get started so she has been a great help over the months. This is another card very much in the Siobhan style - I hope you like it. If you do please leave a comment to let me know what you think (I've got plenty time to read them).

Simon Says.... A Card for a Child

Hi girls. Thanks for calling in here. I hope you enjoy your visit and find something you like.
Well this has been some day. As some of you know I haven't had the best of weeks healthwise. The pressure sore on my heel became infected and I was put on antibiotics. I go to the surgery twice a week to get it dressed and hubby dresses it in between. Well yesterday (Sunday) it did not look good at all . It was very sore and weeping horrid green stuff (sorry too much detail). The whole heel was a dark purple colour and my leg up to my knee was swollen and very red. Hubby was very worried and phoned NHS24. I ended up in hospital for a couple of hours to not much avail to be honest. They told me it was cellulitis and changed my antibiotic and told me to go back to my doctor tomorrow. We came home and hubby redressed it after cleaning it out but I am sore and knackered. Enough moaning on to happier things.
I haven't been able to craft at all so I'm posting another Stampaholics class creation and entering it into the Simon Says challenge where we were to make a card for a child. The image is an Inkadinkadoo stamp coloured using Polychromos pencils. I used Bazzil Bling with My Mind's Eye papers. the embellishments were provided by Siobhan at the class. Where would I have been without her classes these last few days.
I have been given another award from Therese in Norway which I will post tomorrow.
Please have a great day and stay safe.

Crafty Sentiments DT Card #13

Hi girls. Thank you for visiting. I am still under the weather but I made this card earlier in the week as my DT card for the new Crafty Sentiments Challenge. There is this great sketch to follow that you will find officially published on the challenge site at 09.00hrs. There is an additional requirement to use blue on the card.
I have chosen to ink up one of the new Crafty Sentiments "Amy" stamps, available at the Crafty Sentiments Store, and have stamped Amy seated and coloured her with my Copics,The papers are Basic Grey "Wisteria" and plain blue card as a backing. I have also stamped a patchwork pattern in yellow Stampin Up "So Safari" ink using a stamp from Create & Craft on white card and punched a border on it. The embellishments are all from my stash and the flowers are homemade.
Why not nip over to Crafty Sentiments to have a go at this great challenge - we would love to see you.
I hope you like this card and I would love you to leave a comment to let me know what you think. I appreciate everything you say and genuinely find great encouragement from your opinions.
have a great weekend and stay safe.

Another Stampaholics Card

Hi girls. Thanks for calling in here to see what is on offer today. I appreciate you taking the time and I hope you like what you find here.
I am afraid I am still struggling a bit. I don't have a lot of energy and have not made anything new for a few days. I have been posting cards I made at recent classes at Stampaholics in Perth just to keep my blog going. I have learned so much from Siobhan, the owner, who comes up with the most fantastic ideas for cards. She has a unique style and I love to copy it for a lot of family cards that do not get published on my blog, but I thought I would share this "Thank You" card with you. I am not entering it into any challenges.
I hope this appeals to you and that you will feel like leaving a comment to let me know what you think. I value your views and love reading what you have to say.
I trust that you will have a great start to the weekend and that you achieve everything you set out to do. Stay safe and healthy.

Secret Crafters #77

Hi girls. Thank you for calling in to my blog. I appreciate you being here. This will be a short post because I really am struggling these last two days. I am on strong antibiotics and they are flooring me.
I am entering this card into the Secret Crafters "How does your Garden Grow" challenge. I made this card at a recent class at Stampaholics in Perth and once again the idea and layout are Siobhan's, the owner. She is a fabulous designer. Her creativity inspires me.
Please leave a comment letting me know what you think of this. I love reading your views. I will try to leave comments on your blogs but if I can't I will catch up in the next couple of days.

Stamp Something - Pink Somethings

Hi girls, thank you for calling in today. I appreciate you taking the time. I am making this a very short post because I have had a lousy day healthwise and am just worn out.
I made this card at my last class at Stampaholics in Perth just in time to enter it into the current challenge at Stamp Something where the theme is "Pink Somethings". The design is Siobhan's, the owner of Stampaholics and is very much in her style. She really is a great inspiration. The image is from Inkadinkadoo Boxed Wishes and the paper is S.E.I.'s "Juliette - Lady's Boudoir". The embellishments are hydrangias and a branch from a McGill punch.
Please feel free to leave a comment is you have time, reading them will cheer me up I have no doubt. Stay safe and well.

Lili of the Valley #50

Hi again girls. What a pleasure to have you here on my wee blog. I appreciate you taking the time to pop in and I hope you feel rewarded with what you find here. The weather is still rubbish but at least it gives me an excuse to be indoors to get on with my crafting. My daughter-in-law, Lil-paper-pixie is still here for another few days so it's nice to have a crafting buddy. I hope all is well in your part of blogland and that your crafting juices are flowing.
I made this card for the current Lili of the Valley challenge where the theme is "Blue and Silver". I have used LOTV's "Little girls swing time" which I have coloured using my Polychromos pencils and Sansador oil. The paper is S.E.I.'s "Winter Song - crystal Arabesque" and I used Silver Mirra Card on which to mount everything. The flowers are homemade and everything else is from my stash.
It would be great if having seen what's here you can find time to leave a comment telling me what you think of what you have found. I love reading what you have to say because I find a lot of encouragement and help in your opinions.
Thank you for calling in. I hope you achieve all you set out to do today and stay safe.

ABC - "R" is for Red & Crafty Creations #6 & AMY Day

Hi girls, the Easter holiday is over for another year and I suppose it is back to work for most of you. I hope you all had a great weekend and are fully refreshed and raring to go again. It's great that you have had time to visit here today. I just hope you find something to please the eye. The weather is still lousy here. Very wet and windy and showing no signs of improving.
Anyway on to more pleasant stuff. This card was made with two challenges in mind. the ABC challenge was for a predominantly red card and at Crafty Creations it was a case of "Anything Goes". I inked up Magnolia's "Tilda with Ladybird" and coloured her up with my Copics. The papers are Karen-Marie Klip & Papir A/S. I cut the corners using a Cuttlebug die from plain paper. I also used this paper for matting and layering and making my homemade flowers. the gems and ribbon are from my stash. I glimmermisted the card on completion.
I really hope you like this card and I would love to know what you think of it. If you have time to leave a comment it would be greatly appreciated. I love reading them. They are so helpful and encouraging.

AND TODAY IS "AMY" DAY

Just a quick reminder that today is the day that the new set of 4 AMY stamps will be available on the Crafty Sentiments Shop site. Whay not call over and see what goodies are lurking there.

Thanks for calling in on me. I hope you have a great day and achieve everything you hope for. Stay healthy and safe.

Papertake Weekly

Hi Girls. The last day of the holiday weekend already. I just don't know where the time is going. They say that it's a sign of old age. I really appreciate you taking time out of you holiday to visit me here. I just hope you find something that brings a little pleasure to make your visit worthwhile.
I made this card for the current Papertake Weekly challenge where they gave us a wonderful sketch to follow. I took the opportunity to use Elizabeth Bell's "New Friends" image that my daughter-n-law, Sarah stamped for me before she came up on holiday. I think she is gorgeous (another one I'll just have to buy). I coloured her using my Copics. The paper is Daydream's "Rain Boots" and I have used plain card for matting and layering and for making my homemade flowers. The embellishments are from my stash. I have sprayed liberally with stickles and Glimmer Mist although it probably won't show on the photograph.
I hope you like this enough to leave me a comment. I do so love reading what you have to say. You give me a lot of help and encouragement.
Thank you for calling. I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday and stay safe,

Crafty Sentiments DT Card #12

Hi Girls. I hope you are all having a fantastic Easter break and that you are managing to recharge your crafting batteries. I appreciate you calling by. I only hope you like what you see. I'm having a great time with the family here for the holiday.
This is my DT Card for the new Crafty Sentiments challenge. I have used the image of this pretty young miss with her bunch of flowers. She is coloured using my Copics. All of the papers and the vellum are freebies from a magazine except for the brushed satin card which I bought from Stampaholics in Perth. I made the flowers from vellum. Everything else comes from my stash. I hope you like this card and would love to hear what you think of it. It would be great if you could find the time to leave a comment. It would be even better if you could find the time to pop over to the Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog after 09:00hrs when the challenge is officially published to enter this weeks competition. I'll look forward to seeing your entry.
Crafty Sentiments is launching 4 new stamps this coming week featuring "Amy" our new character. She will be available on the Crafty Sentiments Shop Site from 6th April. Why not call in then and see the goodies available for purchase.
YET ANOTHER BLOG AWARD

I received this beautiful Blog Award from Barbara over at Hunnybunny Cards. I believe that the translation says "This blog is Enchanting" or something of that ilk. Thank you very much Barbara I'm really flattered that you thought of me. Now I have to send this to 12 bloggers including Barbara so here goes. The great thing about having to send it to such a large number is that I can spread it around. I am sending it to:

Thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement over the months. I appreciate it. It would be great if you had time to join in at Crafty Sentiments some time.

That's all for today. Thanks for calling and enjoy your weekend.

Sketch & Stash #32

Hi girls. Thank you for taking the time to visit me here. I appreciate you making the effort. I hope you find something to please the eye.
Saturday again and another weekend is upon us, the special weekend when we remember the greatest sacrifice ever made. I hope that you enjoy this Easter weekend and have a momemt to grasp the significance of what we celebrate.
I made this card for the Sketch & Stash challenge where they gave us a great sketch to follow. I inked up Magnolia's "Tilda with Flowers" and coloured her using my Copics. The design paper I used is from the Graphic 45 Baby and Bride Collection and I used plain card to matt and layer. The ribbon is new from my stash and the flowers are homemade by me.
This card was fairly straightforward to make but I am not at all sure about it. I haven't put a sentiment on it and I think it might look a bit empty. I hope you like it though because I would love it if you left a comment for me - even if it's to tell me that there is something missing. I get so much help and encouragement from them.
ANOTHER TWO AWARDS

I received these two awards from these two wonderful crafting buddies:-

Bev Parr at Bev's Crafty Bits
Lisa Jane at Mess 2 Magic

I already have the first one but I am delighted that they thought of me when they were considering who they should give them to. Please pop over and have a look at their wonderful blogs - there are lots of goodies to see.
I am going to pass these on to the following ladies:

  • Jo at Kingslake's Crafts
  • Linda at Payne Holler Cards
  • Chris at Twinkles Glow With Stamps
  • Teri at Teri's Cards and Toppers
  • Gez at GezzyB's Crafty Bits
That's it for today. I sincerely hope you gave a great Easter and stay safe.

Create4Fun #13 & Penny Black #94 & Secret Crafters #76 & An Announcement

Hi girls. Great to have you here visiting my little blog. I'm glad you could find the time to pop in and I hope you are rewarded with something you feel worthwhile.
Sarah (Lil-paper-pixie) and I went to Stampaholics today to a class Siobhan was running on "Resist Techniques" and had a great time learning something neither of us had done before. We really enjoyed it. The men wandered about Perth for nearly 3 hours because they couldn't go swimming - Jonathan, our grandson, had forgotten to bring his trunks with him. I didn't have a lot of blogging time but I think I got round most of my regular pitstops. If I missed yours please bear with me I should catch up tomorrow.
I made this card for three challenges:-
Create 4 Fun where the Colour Combo was Brown, Cream & Pink
Penny Black who had a theme of "Butterflies & Bees", and
Secret Crafters where the requirement was "Pink, Green and Flowers".
I think this card might just squeeze into each challenge.
I used Penny Black's " Garden Friends" coloured using my Copics for my image (it has a butterfly). I used plain brown and pink paper for matting and layering and MME's Hip & Luxurious Basics "Lush - Pink Floral Paper" ans a Backing paper. I added a small Bee charm and added a butterfly cut using a Martha Stewart punch. The other embellies are all from my stash and the flowers are homemade. The card is liberally Stickled and sprayed with Glimmer Mist although it's not really seen in the photograph - it is there, I promise.
I really enjoyed making this card so I hope you like it enough to leave a comment letting me know what you think of it. I love reading what you have to say.

AND
INTRODUCING "AMY"

These new stamps of this really cute girl called Amy from Crafty Sentiments Shop will be available from 6th April so make sure you get across to the shop then and get your order in.

I have been given some Blog Awards but this post is long enough I think so I will show you them tomorrow, all being well.
Well that's it for today folks so I'll wish you a great day and stay safe.

Just Magnolia Week 48

Hi girls. Thanks so much for calling in to see my blog today. I really appreciate you taking the time. If you get half as much joy visiting here as I do visiting my regular blogs I will consider that a compliment.
Well the family have arrived for a 10 day break and this place is buzzing. Sarah and I are going to Stampaholics to a class today. Siobhan is showing us Resist Techniques. The men are going swimming (that should raise the pool level significantly). I am sure we will be out and about (as far as crutches allow) over the time they are here so some of my blogging may be spasmodic but I will try to keep up each day. I have cards made for a good few days ahead so I will still be posting.
I made this card to enter the Just Magnolia challenge where we were given a great sketch to follow provided by Jane. I have inked up "Sweet Tilda" and coloured her using my Copics. I have paper pieced her dress using the reverse side of SEI's "Juliette" I have used Bazzil as a backing paper but put it through the Sissix in a "Script" Cuttlebug folder. I also used it to make the flowers. The embellishments are from my stash and I have used Stickles and Glimmer Mist liberally over the card although it may not look it from the photograph. The embellishments are from my stash.
I do hope you like this card enough to encourage you to leave me a comment telling me what you think of it. I love reading what you have to say and value your opinions so much.
Well whatever you are up to today I hope it goes well and that you have a great time. Take care and go safely.
Hugs,
