Hi girls, nice to have you here on my blog for a look see. I hope you find something you like here. The weather has really gone for a burton here - heavy rain and winds. has our Indian summer gone for good? Ah well it's all a good excuse for spending time in the craftroom and I have Kathleen from The Daisy Chain visiting this afternoon so that will be fun.
I made this card for entering into two challenges. ABC Christmas - "S" is for Santa. the twist was that There was to be no Red on Santa. Now that really was a challenge - it just doesn't seem right does it? Secondly, Creative Inspirations where the call was for "Lace and Sparkle". There was another challenge that asked for "Transportation" and I wondered if it would qualify for that if I claimed that Santa's sleigh was parked just out of the picture LOL. Thought that might be a bit of a stretch though.
I decided to go for a card with a distressed look. I used Magnolia's "Santa Delivering Presents" and coloured him using my Copics.I layered him on top of my Magnolia background stamp "Silent Night". The papers are the back side of Basic Grey's "Eskimo Kisses - Finial" and some Bo Bunny scraps. The lace, pearls and glitter are from my stash. Looking at it now I wonder if the lace ribbon should be wider - opinions please. The glitter has no come out terribly well on the photograph but believe me it is there. The snowflakes were made using a Martha Stewart punch.
I hope you might have an extra minute to leave a comment to let me know what you think of this card. I love to read your views.
Thank you for calling in and taking time to visit. Enjoy your day and stay safe and healthy.

So beautiful Fiona, I really love the vintage feel. Fabulous papers and image. I got me a santa recently, one from JS...I hadn't been too keen on some of her stuff recently but these new images she's got out for christmas are so cute...
ReplyDeleteHope your feeling ok, bet your like my Mum and have your on and off days. Hope your not as silly as my Mum and push yourself when your feeling well. My Mums a mare for that, and ends up bedridden at times. I know its frustrating being held back by illness and when you do feel a little relief it's most likely you would like to get stuck into something. The one of my Mums good days I caught her trying to move the TV...I couldn't say much, she was just happy to be able to do it but as you can guess she was in agony later...
I don't know how you feel Fiona, I can only say as a person who knows someone in your position....but I do think about how hard it must be
Take care
x
