Cute Card Thursday #179 - Guest DT Card

Hi girls. Thanks for dropping in on my blog today. I really appreciate your visit and I hope you like today's offering. This post has been scheduled so I hope Blogger is behaving and that it appears on time. I am spending time with my family who are visiting this week so I hope to get back to normal blogging after the weekend.
This card is the last in my stint as a guest DT on Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Where has the month of August gone. I would like to thank the team (especially Lynn over at Craft and Waffle) for the opportunity - I have really had a lot of fun. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and see their wonderful creations and join in the challenge which is in the form of a sketch this week.
On this card I have used Lili of the Valley's "Best Friends" coloured using Copics. The papers are Bazzil Basics "Indian Summer" and Wild Asparagus "Sweet Little One" with some pink Bazzil as a mount. The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the ribbon and glitter are from my stash. The sentiment is made using a stamp by Justrite.
I hope you like this card and that you might have a minute to leave me a comment. Enjoy youy crafting and stay safe and healthy.

Cute Card Thursday #178 - Guest DT Card

Hi girls, I am so pleased that you have had time to call in to my blog today. I do hope you like what is on offer. I haven't been overly active blogging this week but I had this card prepared in advance as my 3rd Guest DT card for Cute Card Thursday.  The theme this week is for:-

A Wedding Card

The image I have used is "Wedding Carriage" by Lili of the Valley and I have coloured it using my Copics. The style of card is the special multifold based on the tutorial in the book I got with my Hougie Board. The paper is a Pale Pink Hunky Dorey design and I have used silver mirra card as well. The edges are cut with a Martha Stewart Doily Punch and the flowers are from Wild Orchid - I coloured the edges of the petals using a Copic Sketcher V0000 - Rose Quartz. The corner is also from Wild Orchid. I did use some glitter but it doesn't show too well on the photograph.
So why not drop over to the Challenge blog and see what goodies the DT have prepared and have a go at the challenge for yourself.
I hope you like this but as usual I would welcome any comments you might have time to leave. I love reading what you have to say.
I hope you enjoy your day and that everything you touch is a success. Above all stay safe and healthy.I off to rest up in preparation for the family coming at the weekend.

A Card for Jonathan

Hi girls. Thank you for calling in on my blog. I hope you have all enjoyed a great weekend (with maybe some have decent weather) and are raring to go for another week. We have a lot to look forward to this week because my eldest son, John and his wife Sarah and young Jonathan are coming up at the weekend for a weeks holiday. I'll be getting evicted from my craftroom when Sarah arrives lol.
Talking of Jonathan brings me neatly on to this card that I made for Jonathan's birthday this past weekend. I struggle with cards for boys and men but I think he liked this one. The image is adigital Kenny K and is coloured using my Copics. I don't know the name of the design paper I'm afraid but I used a panel of silver mirra card behind the mounted image (I'm sorry it hasn't come out very well on the photograph), the image is mounted on a piece of card that I put through a hand machine to corrugate it. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley. I used adhesive letters for the "Grandson" and coloured them using a Copics pen.
I hope this card might give you a few ideas and I would love to read any comments you might have time to leave for me.
Have a good week and stay safe and healthy.

Cute Card Thursday #177 - Guest DT Card

Hi girls. Thanks for popping in to my blog. I hope wherever you are you are safe - I am really sickened with all the rioting that is going on down south these last few days. Where do all these mindless louts come from and what is happening to this country of ours.
Anyway, enough doom and gloom and on to the card for today.
This is week two of my Guest DT month over at Cute Card Thursday (doesn't time fly). The theme this week is "CLEAN & SIMPLE". This was a real challenge for me because I can't resist loads of flowers. However this is my stab at it.
I used plain white card and stamped Penny Black's "Blush" on it using Amethyst by Versa Colour. I cut an apperture and stuck the verse "Footprint Friends" by Stampendous on the inside of the card so that it showed through the apperture. The seam binding and gems are from my stash. The butterflies (there is one on the inside as well although you can't see it) are cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog and see the fabulous creations from the other team members and have a go at the challenge yourself.
Any comments you might like to leave for me here will be greatly welcomed. Have a great day and stay safe and healthy.

A Card for Ellie

Hi girls. Thanks for calling in to see me. I hope all is well in your corner of blogland.  It's only fair to warn that this post is heavy on photographs (a bit of an understatement) and some of them not of the highest quality I'm afraid. The card was made for a very special little girl - my granddaughter Ellie - on her 8th Birthday. It is in the form of a book with letters at the edge of each page that spell out the word "COOL".

Photo of the closed book

The papers are all from a free CD Rom given away in Issue 30 of the Complete Cardmaking magazine. The images are all by Lili of the Valley and are coloured using my Copics. The front cover is "New Hat".

View of the inside of page 2 showing the image "Dandelion Clock"

View if the inside of page 3 showing the image "Birthday Fairy"

View of the last page showing the image "Glamorous Gardening".

This was a fun little project and I really enjoyed making it. I hope you like it. Any comments you may wish to leave will be greatly appreciated. I love reading what you have to say.
Please have a great day and above all stay safe and healthy.

A Card from a Class

Hi girls. I'm so happy you have been able to call in on my blog. You are warmly welcomed and I can only hope that you find something to stir your creative juices. I haven't done a lot of crafting or blogging since the weekend for which I apologise but I thought that just to keep the blog ticking over I would show you this card that I made at a class run by my friend Kathleen from The Daisy Chain. I am not entering it into any challenges.
Now in terms of the detail I am afraid that I don't have any idea what the image or the papers are. Kathleen kindly provided all the components for this card and I don't know what they are. If anyone is desperate for the information I will certainly ask Kathleen and let you know. I enjoyed making this card but as you all know most of the fun at a class is in just having a good natter among ourselves.
I hope you like this card and that you might have a minute to leave a comment. I love reading what you have to say.
Whatever you have planned for today I hope you have a great time and stay safe and healthy.

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Hi girls. Thank you for dropping in on my blog. I hope you find something you like. How is your weekend going? Well the rain is back again with a vengence. We decided yesterday to go down to Hobbycraft in Edinburgh and left home in brilliant sunshine. As we joined the motorway a mile from home the warning signs said "Heavy rain forecast - expect flooding". We looked at each other in amazement. We were both in short sleeves and had no jackets with us and decided that the signs were wrong. Bad mistake lol. Never mind - rain never stopped anybody spending money.
I am entering this card into the current Papertake Weekly Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes". I have used a Hangler & Stangler image coloured using my Copics. The design paper is "Kikkouhanabishi Eastern Treasures (silver glittered) by Kodomo Inc. I also used silver mirra card and coloured cardstock as mounts. The flowers and leaves are cut from Marianne Designs dies. The seam binding, gems, stickles and glitter are all from my stash.
I hope you like this card and would love to read any comments you might have time to leave for me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have fun crafting. Above all stay safe and healthy.

Cute Card Thursday #176 - Guest DT Card

Hi girls. Thank you so much for dropping in on my wee blog. I am so glad you are visiting - I hope you enjoy what you find here. The weather here has been very changeable for a while but even when it's raining the temperatures are quite warm. Yesterday was very sunny so long may it continue. I hope you are all well and enjoying good health.
I was contacted over a year ago by Lynn over at the Craft and Waffle and asked if I would like to do a stint as a Guest DT for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. At the time I had to decline due to ill health. She contacted me again this year and asked if I would like to guest for the month of August and I jumped at the chance. So this is my first card as a Guest DT. The challenge this week is to produce a card with

"NO DESIGNER PAPER"

- in other words make your own backgrounds.
I used a double sided card and stamped one side with an Artemio flourish using a Coral chalk inkpad by Memories. The other side of the card I embossed with a stylized flowers Cuttlebug folder. I then sanded the embossed patter to bring out the pattern. The ribbon and lace are from my stash and the punched border is made using a Martha Stewart punch. The flowers are by Wild Orchid.
Why not pop over to the challenge blog and see the fabulous creations from the other team members and have a go at the challenge yourself.
Any comments you might like to leave for me here will be greatly welcomed. Have a great day and stay safe and healthy.
