Oh to be Young Again

Hi girls. The rain is back with a vengence here although it is still very warm. I do hope summer is not away for good - I have a lot of sunning to catch up on.Lol. Thanks for calling in to see me to see what might be on offer. I hope you like what you find here. Thanks for the comments you left on yesterdays card that I wasn't too sure about. I think some of you were right in that it lacked some colour round the image to relieve the starkness of the white card it was stamped on. Thanks for your honest opinions.
I made this card, again with no challenges in mind. I have inked up Lili of the Valley's "Little Girls Swing" and coloured it using a mixture of Copics and Polychromos Pencils. This image reminds me of my childhood (yes my memory goes back that far). The paper is from the Paper Cellar and I have used Bazzil as a mount. I made some handmade flowers from Bazzil and used a few bits and bobs from my stash. The flowers have been stickled and glimmer misted for effect.
I would as usual love to read any comments you are kind enough to leave for me. I hope you have a good day and enjoy everything you do.

Magnolia All the Way

Hi girls. Thanks for calling in to see me I'm glad to have you here. What a funny day yesterday was weather wise. It was hot but overcast most of the day with some sunny spells, then at night the heavens opened and rained as thougfh it had never rained before. Gave the garden a good watering.
I've made another card for today that I won't be entering into any challenges. I'm not really convinced by this card - I can't put my finger on it but there is something that doesn't feel right about it. The two images are both Magnolia's. I have used " Tilda with Three Flowers" and I have seated her on the "Honey Jar". They are coloured using Copics for the skin and Poychromos Pencils for everything else. The paper is Magnolia's "Once Upon a Time" and I used a Martha Stewart punch for the vertical border. The embellishments are all from my stash.
I would love to hear what you think of this card and if you see anything I may have missed I would love to know. Thanks for taking the time to call in and assure you I won't be offended by anything you say. I value your opinions.
Have a great start to the week, enjoy your crafting and take care.

A Favourite Tilda

Hi girls, well the weekend is well under way and the weather although not scorching has at least been warm. I hope you are enjoying it so far. The World Cup is more than 3/4 finished - weyhey!! so normality is just a couple of weeks away. At least I can craft without feeling I'm stealing "us" time Lol.
I made this card a bit more like my normal girly style. I used Magnolia's "Tilda with Flowing Hair" and one of "Tilda's Butterflies" and coloured them with my Polychromos Pencils and Copics. I used some stickles that don't show too well on the photograph. The papers are from Stampin Up's "Tea Party" set. The butterflies are cut using a Martha Stewart punch and the flowers and ribbon are from my stash. I don't intend entering it into any challenges. I hope you like this card and look forward to some feedback from you to find out if it works for you. I love reading your comments so don't be shy, let me know what you think.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a great time crafting.

A Bit of Everything

Hi again girls. It's great to have you visiting again. I hope you are on the verge of an enjoyable weekend with the family (or without them if they are football fans). I hope your visit here gives you something worthwhile and perhaps even inspires you to get some crafting done.
This card is indeed a bit of everything because I have no idea what half of it is. The image is one I got from my daughter-in-law Sarah (Lil-paper-pixie) and I've forgeotten what it's called or who manufactured it. The papers were free in a magazine (I think). I know I used my Copics to colour the image and that the flower and swirl were made using one of my Marianne Designs Creatables. the other bits and pieces are from my stash.
Despite the rather haphazard make up of this card I hope you like it and it would be fantastic if you could find time to leave me a comment to let me know what you think. Maybe you might even be able to tell me what the image is.
Have a great weekend and, above all, take care and go safely.

Up Up and Away

Hi girls. I am afraid I didn't have a card yesterday but I have had a bad couple of days. I appreciate that some of you have still called in and left messages. They are all much appreciated.
I got quite a few complimentary comments about my craftroom the other day. It's the first time I've done the Wednesday thing and I will give it a go again sometime. I love looking at everybody else's workspaces.
I made this card a bit plainer than my normal girly style because if I'm honest I was lacking in energy. The "papers" are two shades of Bazzil Spot card and the image is in fact a hand drawn copy of a Papertray Ink stamp I saw some time ago. I drew it on a background of the Hero Arts Design Block called "Clouds". The buttons, ribbon and gems are all from my stash.
I hope you like this card and I would love to read any comments you may have time to leave for me.
I hope you all have a great day and that everything you do is a success. Take care.

WOYWW 23.6

Hi girls. Thank you so much for popping in to see me. I really appreciate your visit.
Today is a first for me. For a long time now I have been promising my good blogging friend Lynn over at Crafty Linby that I would post photographs of my workroom and desk. I have failed to keep that promise but last week in a fit of insanity I guaranteed that I would do it this week. The first photo is of my desk. It is a tad tidier than normal because I was having a visit yesterday afternoon from Kathleen over at The Daisy Chain. Kathleen lives in Kinross and we were not aware of each other until Lynn told Kathleen about me. We had a cuppa and a good chinwag and I look forward to crafting together next time. Why not pop over to her blog and have a look - I promise you won't be disappointed.

The second photo is taken looking across the front of my desk into the far corner of the room. I have some plastic drawers for tools and glitter stuff and two shallow tray units for my papers. William doesn't know it yet but I have my eyes on the cupboard in the corner which I have not been allowed to take over yet.

The last photo is taken from in front of that cupboard looking back across the room. When we redid our bedroom William stripped out the old drawer units and put them in my craftroom. They hold my stash of ribbons, flowers and nicknacks.
Well I hope you like my room and I hope you think I have honoured my promise Lynn Lol.

A Little Ballerina

Hi girls. Thank you for calling in again. I had a very quiet day yesterday with William as we celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We had some wonderful gifts from family and extended family but they all respected our wish that there were to be no surprise dinners or parties because I just don't have the energy for that type of thing yet. Thanks to everyone for the comments and emails I received wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Everyone of them was a cherished surprise.
I made this card using Magnolia's "Ballerina Tilda" from the Fairytale set and for a change I coloured her using my Polychromos Pencils. I actually had an accident with the Sansador oil and knocked the bottle over the completed image. Fortunately it all dried out without spoiling it. The paper is My Mind's Eye - Lush and Luxurious basics. I used cream Bazzil as a mounting card. The flowers and bits and bobs are all from my stash.
I hope you like this card enough to leave a comment for me. I love your comments - they really encourage me. Thank you for taking time to visit. Enjoy your crafting and stay safe.

A Card for the Sake of it.

Hi girls. Thanks for calling in here. Hopefully you will find something you like or maybe even inspire. Your visits are much appreciated. This is a very special day in the Horne household. William and I are celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I know it sounds a bit soppy but it has been wonderful to be able to spend that long with my best friend. We are not having anything special and have asked the family not to organise any surprises. I just don't have the stamina, but I'm sure they won't let it pass without something. I think we will just have a quiet day so I may not get round too many blogs so I'll apologise now just in case.
I made this card without any challenges in mind. I have used one of my favourite Sugar Nellies called "Picking Apples" and coloured it using my Copics. The papers are "Somebunny Loves You" by Magnolia Ink and SEI's Juliette "Lady's Boudoir". The flowers were made using the reverse side of the SEI paper and the corners were cut using a Cuttlebug die. Everything else is from my stash.
I hope you like this card and I would love to hear what you think of it, so if you have time please leave me a comment. I love reading what you have to say.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and stay safe and healthy.

Tilda in Lilac

Hi girls. thanks for calling in to see me here. I appreciate your visit and I hope you see something you like. The weather is still holding up although there was a stiffer breeze yesterday but it's nice to see that big yellow thing in the sky.
I made this card just to put on my blog and will not be entering it into any challenges. I have inkedup Magnolia's "Tilda with Spring Bundler" and coloured her in using my Copics. The papers are Stampin Up's "Lilac Muffin Dot" and Magnolia's "Lilac Chef Plaid" and I have used spotted Bazzil as a mount. I have used a Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch and a Nellie Smellen oval frame. The flowers are from Magnolia and the leaves are punched using an L-Em.com punch. The riboon is from my stash and the bows are home made.
I do hope you like this card because I would love you to leave a comment telling me what you think. You opinion matters to me and I appreciate you taking the extra time to leave a note.
Have a great weekend and I hope your crafting goes well.

A Borrowed Image

Hi again girls. Wow was yesterday a fantastic day of sunshine or not? I had a good soak in the sun for a while. At last William has finished planting out the bedding plants. It's been so warm during the day he couldn't risk putting the plants in and he has had to wait till the cool of the evening (between World Cup matches).
I'm glad you have found the time to visit and I hope you find it worth your effort. I love the comments you leave for me and I love visiting your blogs. They provide so much encouragement and inspiration.
Well for today's card I have used an image I stamped from one of Sarah's stamps when she was here a couple of weeks back. It's from Pure Innocence and is called "A Bloomin Good Day". I coloured this using my Copics. The papers are from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush set and are called "Cinnamon Bear" and "Bottle Caps". I used Spotted Bazzil as a mount. The flowers are homemade and all the other bits and bobs are from my stash. I'm not putting it in any challenges.
I do hope you like this card and I would love you to leave a comment to let me know what you think. I love reading what you have to say.
I hope you have a fantastically creative day and that you and yours are kept safe and well.

Feeling like a Wedding?

Hi girls, how are things with you all today in Blogland? Well I hope. I am so pleased that you have found some time to call in on me here and I hope that you find something you like. I have had a great few days visiting your blogs and am beginning to get back up to speed with where everybody is and what how you are getting on.
While I remember, of the statements I gave yesterday with my award there was only one of them true. William had breakfast with James Irwin, the American astronaught who drove one of the moon buggies. The others were untrue but I'm sure most of them were obvious.
I'm still not into challenges at the minute and this is another card that I did just for the fun of it. I am managing to spend a wee bit longer each day crafting and am enjoying it again. I have inked up one of my Lili of the Valley stamps that I have never used before although I've had it for a while. It is called "The Wedding Carriage". I coloured it using my Cpics. The backing paper is SII Juliette's "First Kiss". I used brushed silk white card and pearlised pink card to mount. The corners are from a Martha Stewart punch and the lace, ribbon and flowers are all from my stash.
If you like this card and have aminute to spare I would love you to leave a comment to let me know. Your views mean a lot to me.
Do have a safe and productive day.

A Man Card & Yet Another Blog Award

Hi girls, I am so pleased to have you visit my wee corner of Blogland. It's so warm here these last few days without any great spells of sunshine. I hope you are all enjoying good weather as well. Hopefully you will find something you like while you browse my blog.
I have made another card today that I will not be entering into any challenges. It's a slight departure from my usual girlie stuff as I thought I would have a go at a card for a man. I'll leave you to judge if it's a success or not.
I used a Hero Arts' Cling called "Bird in a Circle" and stamped it in gold with pink, green and brown highlights. I have mounted everything on gold card and the paper is Classic K Bailey Brown Paisley Flat Paper. The ribbon is from my stash. If you like this card I would love you to leave a comment. I love reading them. They are so encouraging. I always appreciate you taking the extra time to leave me a note.

My Third Award in 3 Days

I have been given this award by Angela over at Sparkly Cards. Angela is a Stampin Up Agent and makes some marvellous creations with their materials. Well worth a look.

The conditions of this award are that I'm to give you 7 statements about myself and either 6 will be true and 1 false or 6 false and 1 true. It's up to you to guess which and sort out what might be true. I would love to hear which of these you think is true.
1. I am 6 feet tall.
2. I hate chocolate.
3. I don't go into craft shops.
4. My husband once had breakfast with a man who walked on the moon.
5. My husband played rugby for Scotland.
6. I am running a marathon later this year.
7. My favourite colour is brown.

I also have to pass this on to 7 people so I have chosen to pass it on to Vee at Veronica's Designs, Tracy at Country Mouse, Lisa at Mess2Magic, Judi at Judi's Craft Corner, Mina at Pinkpuds, Kim at Kim's Card Corner, Emma at Mrs Giraffe's Bloggy.

Well that is it for today. have a great day, stay safe and enjoy your crafting.

Midsummer Tilda & Another Award

Hi girls. Thank you so much for calling in to see me. I hope your visit is worthwhile. I'm beginning to get back into the swing again although I am still taking a while to make a card but I am beginning to enjoy crafting again. We are getting well into summer now although you wouldn't think it to look at our garden - it's taking a long time to pick up after the winter we had. We lost a lot of herbatious stuff.
However with the season in mind, I have inked up Magnolia's Fairytale "Midsummer Tilda Dancing" and coloured her with my Polychromos pencils. The paper is "Pretty Please" from My Mind's Eye and I used Bazzil as a mounting and contrast. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the punched borders. The handmade flowers are a departure from my normal and are my first attempt at making flowers using the tutorial in the latest Mangnolia Ink magazine. The ribbon and bits and bobs are from my stash. I am not entering this into any challenges. At the minute I prefer just to do my own thing rather than worry about complying with the requirements of challenges. I hope you like it and would love to read any comments you might have time to leave.
Another Award
I got a email yesterday from Tracy over at Country Mouse to tell me that she left this award for me when I was in hospital. William didn't notice it ( I just can't get the staff these days - Lol) so I was totally unaware of it.
Although I already have this award it means a lot coming from Tracy so I am acknowledging it now. If you are one of my followers and would like this award please feel free to take it.
Well that is it for today. I hope everything you do is a success and that all goes well for you. Stay safe.

A Happy Tilda & a Blog Award

Hi girls. Thank you so much for calling in on me again, I am so pleased to see you. I have spent a fair bit of the last two days catching up on all your blogs and leaving comments on your marvellous creations. It was so nice to catch up with you all. Some of you have had rough times and I am so sorry to have been missing when some of you have been through the mill. I hope that I might be able to offer something in return for all the fantastic support you gave me.
I made this card just for the fun of it. I am not entering any challenges with it. I inked up Magnolia's "Happy Tilda" and coloured her using my Copics. The paper is from Stampin Up and I have used plain card as a mount. The large flower was made using Creatables by Marianne Design. The ribbon and stamens are from my stash. The leaf spray was cut using an L-Em.com punch.
I hope you like this card and would love to hear what you think of it if you can find the time to leave a comment. They are generally so encouraging.

Blog Buddies Award

I was given this award a couple of days ago by the lovely Lynn over at Crafty Linby. She has been a great friend and has a fantastic blog that is well worth a visit. She would be pleased to see you. There are no conditions to accepting this award.
There are so many people I would love to pass this award on to but it would take a long time to list everybody so I have decided that the best approach would be to give it to everyone who sent me a card when I was in hospital. You will all know who you are. Thank you so much.

Have a great day and enjoy whatever you are doing, especially your crafting.

Tilda in Peach

Hi girls. It's great to have you visit my blog. I've had a slightly better day today and I managed to make a card. I'm still not entering any challenges, I'm just content to make whatever comes into my mind. All being well I will be doing a bit of blog visiting today because it is so long since I left any comments even although I have been looking. My resident nurse (William) has been keeping a close eye on me and making sure that I don't overdo things but now that the World Cup has started I think things might relax a bit. Lol.
I have inked up Magnolia's "Tilda with Flowing Hair" and coloured this gorgeous stamp with my Copics. The papers are both from the Graphic 45 Baby & Bride Collection and are called " Love me Tender" and " Endless Love" and I have used peach Bazzil as mounting card. The flowers and ribbon are from my stash and the butterfly was made using a Martha Stewart punch.
I do hope you like this card.
Thank you for calling in and taking time to see my blog. I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy your crafting.

Thanks for Your Kindness

Hi girls, thank you for popping in again. I was so encouraged by the comments you left yesterday. They really brightened up my day. You are all so kind and thoughtful.
I have managed to produce another card for today so I am quite pleased with myself. I have used a Lili of the Valley image called "Window Box" and coloured it using my Copics. I love these beautiful LOTV images and I got a lot of pleasure from working with this one. I have used burgandy Bazzil and an unknown green paper. The Bazzil has been put through a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The handmade flowers are made from pale green Bazzil. Everything else is from my stash.
Thank you for taking time to call in. I really appreciate you making the effort.

Nice to be back

Hi Girls. I am so sorry that I have been posted missing for the last week or so but I am afraid that I have been struggling a bit lately. I tire very easily and I am afraid that my blogging has suffered as a result. I have been visiting some blogs but have left only a few comments since I have little or no energy. A few of you have left emails for me and I have tried to reply to you all. I am so fortunate to have such faithfull blogging friends. Your support means so much.
The card above took 3 days to make and is not as good as I had hoped it would be but I felt that I should try to show face lest you thought I had abandoned blogging all together. I used images from my new Magnolia collection and included Tilda, Edwin, the frog, butterflies, a fairy and a plant. they are all coloured using my Copics and the papers are from Stampin Up. The other embellishments are from my stash and the flowers are handmade.
I hope you like it.
I will try to have another card for tomorrow but no promises.

Keeping My Hand In

Hi girls, I really feel as though I have been posted missing because I have been so lax with my blogging this week. We have had a great time with John & Sarah & Jonathan this week. I am tired but blessed. Sarah and I have had a great time cardmaking. Actually Sarah has done a lot of cardmaking nd I have done a lot of watching (and guarding my precious stash - their car will be searched before they go home. Lol). William at 62 has rediscovered his football playing days, albeit in slow motion, with Jonathan.
I am so pleased you have had time to call in. I hope you like this card which represents the sum total on this week's work so far. I have inked up Magnolia's "Honey Tilda" and masked her on to the watering can. She is coloured using my Copics. The paper is My Mind's Eye's "Pretty Please - Polka Dot Orange" and I used some pink card as a mount. The flowers are handmade and everything else is from my stash.
If you have a minute I would love it if you left a comment. I do so love reading them. I appreciate your visit. Have a great day and enjoy your blogging.
Hugs,
