Spoon Full of Sugar #66

I created this card for the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge and for a change moved away from my favourite pinks and pastels and instead went for shades of brown and cream.

The stamp I used is "Time for Apple Pie" by Sarah Kay. I love the Sarah Kay range. All the papers are from the "Hot off the Press" range, Paper Flair Browns and Creams. The embellishments and flowers are from my stash. I edged everything with gold ink.

I hope you like the end product and look forward to any comments you may wish to leave. Reading your feedback helps me, as a relatively new cardmaker and blogger, to refine my ideas and techniques.

Blog Award

I have just found out that I have been given a blog award by Gracie at Dancing Angel. She is a very talented young lady and only recently started her blog but is producing some gorgeous cards. Her blog is well worth a visit.

Thank you very much Gracie. I am flattered that you thought of me and will pass this on shortly to someone whose work puts a smile on my face.

C4E Challenge #46

I decided for this C4E challenge to go for a male card. I am more comfortable with nice girly ones so this is a bit out of my comfort zone. The optional element for the challenge was to be something beginning with "G" so I have gone for a Goldfish (small but it meets the criteria).
I started by sticking blue Bazzill onto white card and the layering with backing paper from the "Blue Leaves Classic Collection" by Rayher. Then I used "Paper Flair (blues)" by Hot of the Press.
The swirls on the left were cut out on a Cricut Expressions cartridge.
I hope you like the result. Any comments you might want to leave will be welcomed because I get so much out of them.

Penny Black Challenge 63 - Stitching

The basis of this Penny Black challenge was to include stitching so I decided to achieve this by using my sewing machine (much underused according to hubby).
The card is based on Penny Black's "Lily Pond". The BPs are from the Pattern Paper range, Euphoria Elysan and Euphoria Fields, all sewn onto the card with the image panel sewn on top.
The embellishments and ribbon are from my inexhaustable stash.
I hope you like the end result enough to leave some comments. I love reading them.

Spoon Full of Sugar #65

This challenge for Spoon Full Of Sugar really had me stumped for a while. I didn't seem to have any stamps that were suitable. I hope you think the idea I came up with works.
I stamped the bicycle, Tin Can Mail by Inkadinkado, on to card and on to a "post it". I cut the bicycle out of the "post it" ( a lot of cutting - so many gaps) and used it to mask the bicycle stamped on the card. I then stamped the girl, Country Garden by Sugar Nellie on top. I then lifted the "post it" so it looks as though she is standing behind the bike. I also masked the foliage round the girls feet and the basket she is holding when I inked the stamp because I didn't want them in the final picture. I coloured it using my Copic Ciaos.
The papers, embellishments and ribbon are from my stash.
Please feel free to leave any comments you want to make.

Sketch and Stash Challenge #17

The aim of this Sketch & Stash challange was to use a mixture of new elements and some neglected ones from my stash.
The stamp was borrowed from my daughter-in-law, "lil-paper-pixie", and is called "Dandelion" by Little Claire. The layered flowers were made from card from my stash by using my new Sizzlits "Flower Layers Set 656062" purchased from Stampeezee in Coventry. The papers from the same source are Basic Grey's Euphoria Bless and Euphoria Fever. The dandelion clocks were embossed in Detail Silver Embossing Powder.
I hope you find this attempt worthy of comment because I get a lot of help from reading them.

C4E Challenge #45

Another great sketch from C4E. I used Polycraft Sherbet "Daydream" because I thought she would go well in this layout. She is coloured using my Copic Ciaos and the papers were all freebies from the "Making Cards" magazine I buy. The embellies are from my stash. I hope you think that they all go well together and would love to read any comments you might be kind enough to leave.

Simon Says .... Anything BUT a Card

What a challange! I'm so used to making cards. Well I decided to make a much needed kitchen notepad to help my poor memory.
The backboard is a piece of very thick cardboard and I have covered it in scraps of paper, fixed on a spring clip with very small bolts and nuts. I covered a 20p notepad with papers and added borders made with a Threading Waters punch. The letter is chipboard and flowers are handmade from card and buttons tied on with ribbon. I embellished the clip with ribbon to disguise the clip a bit.
Hope you like it. Comments are always welcome.

What a wonderful surprise!! My DIL Sarah, Aka Lil-paper-Pixie, has awarded me this triple blog award. I'm really flabbergasted since this is my first award and the truth of the matter is that I won't even have a blog if she hadn't pestered me to start one. Thank you very much Sarah. Her own blog is fantastic and I suggest that you should give her a visit. While I'm at it, her son Jonathan (my grandson) has his own great blog so why not visit him as well on Jons Crafts
